The nearly seventy-year-old Yu Zhao (played by Chen Changhai) has been away from his hometown of Baoshan, Yunnan for more than thirty years. Now, his entire life revolves around preparing dinner for his son Xiaoming's (played by Wang Liyang) family and picking up and dropping off his young grandson Pengpeng (played by Han Zaizhao) from school. Yu Zhao has always lived a lonely life, suppressing his true thoughts and feelings in front of his son. He often dreams of leaving the city and returning to his hometown. Coincidentally, his grandniece Yunyun (played by Yang Rong) is getting married. Taking this opportunity, Yu Zhao sets off on a journey to find the place where his body and soul truly belong. Familiar old streets, reunions with old friends and family, and late-life love seem to rekindle the lingering warmth of his memories...
